WATCHING MAKES ITS FIRST THREE TV SALES!

And finally the cash is rolling in!

Ok, so nobody gets into short films to make a living, but the hope that we may re-coup our costs one day has all of the Dakus Films team jumping for joy!

We’re also knee deep in post-production of our first feature film, Titus, so rest assured all the extra pennies will be put to a very good cause.

We’ll keep you posted on screening times, but for now we can confirm that Watching will be on Swedish, Italian and US TV stations before long…

Thanks for all the support to everyone that helped us get to this stage and an extra special thank you to our lovely distributors Derry and Sadhbh at NITV over in Dublin.

This Thursday from 8-10pm Watching will be attending an evening of short films, animations and music videos in a warm cozy basement in the The Book Club in Shoreditch.

So if you couldn’t make Cannes this year, fear not, come and join our own stars from 7pm because quite frankly ‘it’s too rainy to do anything else.’

WATCHING SELECTED FOR I’VE SEEN FILMS INTERNATIONAL FILM FESTIVAL

Watching’s attempt at global domination continues with its entry into the unique and wonderful I’ve Seen Films International Film Festival in Milan, Italy.

‏

Inspired by the film Blade Runner (are we on the verge of a return?) Rutger Haur set up the International Film Festival to challenge all film authors, inviting them to show films that ‘can be inspired, hard-fought, spirited, powerful, light, innovative.’ Great stuff.

I’ve Seen Films will take place in the beautiful Gnomo Milano Cinema venue, in Milan. Screening times will be announced soon, so watch this space!

WATCHING @ PALM SPRINGS SHORTFEST DETAILS REVEALED!

Happy mid week fellow Watchers!

We’re pleased to announce that Watching will be shown at the Palm Springs ShortFest on Friday June 24th at 7pm at the Camelot Theatres as part of the Trivial Pursuit program.

ShortFest 2011 will be presenting more than 300 short films from over 40 countries and we’re so proud to be a part of it!

The complete schedule will be available here on June 11th and tickets will go on sale June 14th from here, so get booking!

Alongside the awesome line up of short films there will be exciting seminars, special presentations and receptions at this extraordinary worlwide event, so don’t miss out!

WATCHING IMMORTALIZED ON THE NEW BEST BRITISH SHORT FILMS WEBSITE!

The deadline to submit your film to the ‘Best British Short Films‘ slate is July 30 and if ever there was a tip we could give from Watching HQ, it would be to go for it!

Watching was lucky enough to be selected by the wonderful Mariela Artiles last year and the help we’ve been given submitting to festivals and general advice and support has been incredible.

Submit here and please let us know how you get on, it’s amazing how the slate has helped create a supporting community for all of us.

And before you ask, Mariela, who also runs Candella Films, gives all of her help for free.

This year BBSF will also teaming up with a top sales agent, who will help attract and advise on relationships with distributors.

What more could you ask for!?

WATCHING AT BIG SUR!

Another fantastic festival entry for Watching!

Possibly the most beautiful of all our screening locations yet, Watching will vie for audiences attention (and surely fail) amid the beauty of the ‘natural amphitheatre, under the towering redwoods at the Henry Miller Memorial Library in Big Sur’ in far North California.

The Big Sur International Short Film Screening Series will take place between June the 9th and the 29th of August, with Watching’s screening date just announced as Thursday, August 4th, at 8.30pm.

On the panel of judges are some of our personal heroes, including composer Philip Glass and cinematographer Vilmos Zsigmond, so here’s hoping we can impress!

If we win the lottery, we’ll see you there, if not, please enjoy it for us if you’re lucky enough to live out on the West Coast…

WATCHING WINS! IAN HART BEST ACTOR AT BRITISH INDEPENDENT FILM FESTIVAL

Spoiled once again!

Up for for Best Director (Max Myers) and Best Cinematography (Dan Stafford-Clark), Watching took one of 3 nominations, with Ian Hart receiving the award for Best Short Film Actor.

Congratulations also to John Hurt for Love at First Sight and Philip Jackson for The Golden Boy, the other two contenders in the category.

And, of course, a huge thank you to festival manager Jacqueline Cockerill and her team for all the support given to Watching by the British Independent Film Festival.

Looking forward to hopefully being back soon with out first feature film, Titus, which is currently in post-production!

Watching in competition at Palm Springs International ShortFest!

The festival run continues with a real highlight of the circuit!
